Connect17 EMEA—Extraordinary Proposal Automation in Action

Team Qvidian

Last week we had our Connect EMEA event in London. It has always been a smaller event compared to the one our cousins over the pond host, however this year things felt very different. For a start, we had more registrations than ever before, a larger venue space, and different sessions for clients to attend depending on their job roles.

The theme for the day was ‘Be Extraordinary’ and we certainly saw evidence that our clients are doing extraordinary things during the discussions and presentations! Working in business development, I speak to many clients initially before they start their journey with Qvidian sales and training. I can’t tell you how great it is to put names to faces at an event like this and meet people who have now started using Qvidian Proposal Automation.

Jamie Davies was the master of ceremonies for the day and as usual he drew in the audience with his observations, seamlessly linking the day together with his announcements and discussions.

Martin Smith and Simon Wellstead, Managing Directors of Bid Solutions, presented the first session, Extraordinary People Want It More,” which led us through the different phases of a bid life cycle. It was a great starting point for the day, offering a strong foundation for the rest of the discussions.

Qvidian Senior Project Managers Rich Hall and Andy Jeffs hosted the breakout sessions. The subjects included using the new AutoFill capabilities, gaining efficiency from RFP tracking, content review workflows and using the RFP package. Clients chose sessions based on how they use Qvidian—this option let them focus on more relevant learning. Participants left the sessions with positive feedback about the new features.

I must at this point thank the invited speakers who so kindly took time share their expertise. Hearing these stories helps me to learn how clients have used Qvidian to the best of their advantage. They have pushed the boundaries—often of both the product and their organisations’ established processes. We as a company love to see people take QPA through its paces. Not every journey is an easy one but the presenters let us into their worlds to provide a snapshot of how they use the solution to benefit their companies.

Qvidian President and CEO Lewie Miller shared that 75% of our product updates are derived from customer feedback forums. It was very clear to see how people’s use of the product and their suggestions have helped us evolve to better serve our customers. In addition, Lewie mentioned that we have made many developments during the past 12 months– it has been a year of great change for Qvidian.

At Connect17 EMEA the rooms were buzzing all day with conversation regarding updates, new features and future releases. Every year I see Connect EMEA become more popular. We enjoy welcoming new clients to our gathering as well as reconnecting with long-time customers.
