Connect 2016: Insider Tips on one of my Favorite Hobbies, Shopping.

With Connect just two months away we reached out to Andrew, the lead navigator and concierge at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville for insider tips on one of my favorite hobbies, shopping. (Don't forget to pack proper walk shoes to wear shopping and extra luggage for all those new purchases.) Where's Nashville Best Shopping? Andrew has highlighted some Nashville shopping hot spots.

Downtown Shopping

Downtown's lower Broadway, which is within walking distance of the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, is well know for its live music venues. However, be prepared to experience some of the best cowboy boot shopping in the city. From Mr. Hat's Boot Company to French's Shoes & Boots, you are sure to walk tall and turn heads in your new kicks.

And if you need that "fun" Music City souvenir, then Legends Gift Shop is stocked ceiling-high with all things Nashville. The Gulch area is a short mile away, where you can find unique gifts at Two Old Hippies, score that one-of-a-kind dress at Blush Boutique or get custom boots crafted at the Lucchese Store.

Some Shopping Highlights:
Let me introduce you to several neighborhoods and an array of locally owned shops.  12th South District boasts a half-mile long stretch of boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. The popularity of the area began with the likes of Imogene + Willie; crafting designer blue jeans for the fashion-conscious, celebs and local musicians. Today, 12th South is all the rage with White's Mercantile by Hank William's daughter, Holly Williams and the most recent opening of Reese Witherspoon's Draper James.

Hill Center Green Hills offers shoppers upscale boutique shopping with a Main Street attitude. There is a mixture of locally owned boutiques like Posh, as well as national brands like West Elm. Holly Williams has curated modern-chic women's clothing at H. Audrey. Her Country legend dad will not be shopping for western gear here. There's a better chance of you bumping into Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman or Sheryl Crow.

8th Avenue is quite unique for what it offers shoppers. Musicians can acquire their next axe at Carter Vintage Guitars or choose from the world's premier collection of vintage, used and new fretted instruments at Gruhn Guitars. Also on 8th is Flip, the premier men's and women's consignment stores. You can find designer clothes and accessories at a great value. Across the street is Gigi Gaskins' hatWRKS. Gigi hand-crafts many styles of hats for both men and women. The store also offers major label brims. Then there is Grimey's New & Preloved Music, an old house turned record store. It has become a city-wide favorite for vinyl and CDs. You can even listen before you buy.
